The las sentance made me smile, furtile for Farming, afraid London made that dissapear long ago.Nice bit of History
The banks of the Thames there must be awash with ancient remains, large and small.
Nice shot of the bridge!!
What an interesting bit of history!
Great photo! You must have been standing right in front of where we stayed the other day.
So how do they know people threw spears in the water to please the gods as opposed to say, spear-fishing?
The notice is delightful. Although the Thames is wide it is, nowadays, tame. The idea of it having islands and overflowing and being a danger (well, in some ways it still is though that's not what one thinks of on first view) . . . a jolt to the imagination!Incidentally, I think I've been remiss in letting all my Pictures Just Pictures followers know I now post at Message in a Milk BottleI've had a break over the summer and am back.
interesting history :)
